Mr. King thoroughly understands relevant Colorado statutes and case law and acts as a zealous advocate for all of his clients to ensure all reasonable efforts are made to settle a case before proceeding to litigation. For the past several years Mr. King has lectured on various family law matters for the Family Law Institute and is a member of the Arapahoe and Colorado Bar associations. Mr. King served several terms on the Executive Council of the Family law Section of the Colorado Bar Association and was recently reelected for an additional term. In addition to working extensively at his practice, he acts as an editor of the Domestic Relations Law and Orders Bench book and is engaged in the Mentoring Project to assist mentoring younger lawyers in the area of family law.
Since 1978 Mr. King has provided group legal services in the area of domestic relations law for the National Educational Association, Colorado Educational Association, and Denver Classroom Teachers Association.
A native of Iowa, Mr. King holds a bachelor's degree in history and political science from Simpson College in Indianola, IA where he played collegiate basketball and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity in addition to double majoring. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa in 1975.
